Türkiye envoy praises Qatar's resilience, leadership and diplomatic role

Doha [Qatar], October 14: Ambassador of Türkiye to Qatar HE Yakup Caymazoğlu has praised Qatar's resilience, strategic vision and responsible leadership, saying the address delivered by the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani before the Shura Council reflects the country's ability to navigate challenges while safeguarding its security, sovereignty and achievements.
In his statement, Ambassador Caymazoğlu highlighted Qatar's institutional strength, economic resilience and forward-looking policies, which have helped the country prepare for crises and minimise their impact.
He said these foundations demonstrate Qatar's determination to overcome difficult circumstances while continuing its journey towards sustainable progress.
The ambassador said he was particularly impressed by the confidence expressed by HH the Amir in Qatar's ability to emerge stronger from the current crisis and adapt to changing global circumstances.
He noted that the Amir's message reflected a clear determination to turn challenges into opportunities, strengthen national resilience and equip the country to face future developments with greater preparedness and confidence.
Ambassador Caymazoğlu attributed Qatar's remarkable progress over recent decades to the vision of its leadership and its sustained commitment to building a modern, prosperous and stable state.
He observed that the development and modernisation foundations established under the Father Amir HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, continue to support the country's advancement under the leadership of the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
He also underscored the importance of the Amir's emphasis on protecting Qatar's sovereignty and security while pursuing diplomatic initiatives to prevent further escalation and restore dialogue and negotiations.
According to the ambassador, this approach demonstrates the ability to combine firmness in defending national interests with a genuine commitment to peace and regional stability.
Highlighting Qatar's international significance, he noted that its prominent position in the global liquefied natural gas market gives the country's security and stability importance beyond the region.
Developments affecting Qatar can have wider implications for global energy markets, economic stability and the safety of international maritime navigation, he said.
On regional and international affairs, Ambassador Caymazoğlu welcomed the clear emphasis placed on the Palestinian cause, stressing the importance of protecting the Palestinian people, ending violations in Gaza and the West Bank, respecting international law and ensuring accountability.
He also highlighted the need for sustained diplomatic efforts to achieve comprehensive political solutions to the crises in Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia, while preserving the unity of these countries and securing a more peaceful and stable future for their peoples.
The envoy further emphasised that Qatar's commitment to education and investment in human development remains central to its long-term vision.
He said meaningful development extends beyond economic growth to include empowering future generations with the knowledge, skills and capabilities needed to address emerging challenges and contribute to society.
