Aug 27, 2026

Hanoi [Vietnam], August 27: Actor Hoang Phuc still maintains his passion for film. After a period of focusing on his family, the "king of villains" is looking forward to a suitable role to make a comeback.
On August 25th, actor Hoang Phuc appeared at the premiere of the film " Guardian of the Hero: The Mystery of King Dinh's Tomb" to support Johnny Tri Nguyen and his colleagues. Accompanying him was his wife, Uyen Phuong. The couple openly displayed their affection, earning admiration from many for their blissful family life after more than 10 years of marriage.
Hoang Phuc has maintained his passion for cinema after more than two decades in the profession. Not only does he appear in projects as an actor, but he also regularly takes the time to follow and support new films, especially those by colleagues and younger generation talents. At the event, the "king of villains" expressed his excitement at reuniting with MC Quyen Linh, Tran Bao Son, Thu Trang and Tien Luat (husband and wife), Mai Tai Phen, and others.
For Hoang Phuc, going to the cinema is not simply an entertainment activity, but also a way for him to maintain a connection with the world of film. The "King of Villains" is particularly interested in how young filmmakers tell stories, experiment with visual language, and explore new directions. Despite his many years of experience, the actor maintains the mindset of a passionate professional, always ready to learn new things on screen.
After his role in *Cải mả* , Hoang Phúc continued to show interest in domestic films. He believes that the development of Vietnamese cinema doesn't just come from commercially successful films, but also requires the support of the audience and those working in the industry. Each time a film is released, it's another opportunity for domestic cinema to test itself, find an audience, and create new conversations.
Hoang Phuc talks about his relationship with Johnny Tri Nguyen.
The film "Guardian of the Heroic Spirit: The Mystery of King Dinh's Tomb" marks Johnny Tri Nguyen's return after a period of absence. As a close friend, Hoang Phuc believes this comeback is in line with his colleague's strengths, but is "more mature" and "better."
"Johnny Trí Nguyễn is a close friend and colleague of mine. We've collaborated on many action films. Although we haven't had the chance to meet again on projects lately, we still occasionally chat at the martial arts school," he said about his relationship with the film's action director. Seeing his colleague return with a major project, Hoang Phúc admitted that the passion for acting always burns brightly in every actor. Especially for those who have been absent for many years, that love is even more intense.
Regarding the suggestion that he's no longer passionate about acting because he's a wealthy man, the "villain king" denied it. He said: "Actually, I'm just cutting back on work to spend more time with my family. Because my children are still young, I need to be with them more, because when they grow up, they won't be around me as much anymore. I'm still looking forward to a suitable role that will fulfill my passion."
