Tamil Nadu: Youngsters establish ‘Garbage Bank’ for waste management in Virudhunagar

Virudhunagar (Tamil Nadu), June 14 (ANI): The locals in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu run a garbage bank, aiming to recycle waste and raise awareness among the people, regarding waste management. The group has held over 130 awareness and educational sessions on waste management for students, teachers, home makers and the general public. Speaking to ANI, Rajavalli, Convenor, Garbage bank, Virudhunagar said, “Garbage bank started 2 years ago, there's shouldn't be landfills and incineration. We used to see garbage strewn on roads and wanted to educate youngsters and people about garbage management. 600 families segregate and give their garbage to us.”
